QO Hotel, Amsterdam
For QO Amsterdam we’ve designed throws, cushions and rugs.
The cotton used to make the throws is grown along the northern coastal valleys of Peru where the rich soil soaks up exactly the right amount of rain water, so no additional water is required to make the cotton grow. Peru is quite a distance, but for me buying my cotton there is worth it: the negative sustainable impact of transportation is much less than the impact of growing cotton closer to home, which requires enormous amounts of additional water. ♻️
Did you know you can make yarns from eucalyptus trees? It’s actually one of the most sustainable resources for fabrics available today. Plus it’s super soft! We used it in our carpet designs for QO Amsterdam..
