Van de Wiele is a Belgium-based company with a mission to imagine, build and integrate innovative textile systems for flooring qualities, home linen, fashion fabrics and technical textiles. in 2018 they asked Soetekouw to create a wallhanging with the theme «Japanese Forest», which would showcase the newest possibilities of their brand new weaving loom. With a width of 3.5 meters, this multi-coloured work was made using a 6 colour warp and a 6 colour weft on a 3.5m wide machine, showcasing 130 different weaves.
